ARTIST STATEMENT

These artworks tell original stories, with all aspects being intentional hints to the underlying narrative. For instance, utilizing the strengths of a variety of mediums and processes in combination with bright contrasting colors brings forth all the representations of the unique narratives an artwork contains. As a result, each work culminates into a puzzle of story elements suspended in a single moment of fantastical space. Ultimately, these artworks allow the viewer to participate in a world beyond reality and experience a connection to a narrative that is not their own.

Lee Davenport has always been surrounded by the art world throughout his entire life and subsequently found himself needing to join it. It was natural to gravitate to the realm of visual creations and passionately delve within what inspirations he could create himself, particularly focused around expressing original narratives.
