Identity Protection – Samantha Jones
A pile of receipts is soaking in the sink. Shopping habits lift and bleed from the high-gloss beaver lodge sitting on stainless steel, shedding paper curds down the drain and into the trap. Or dissect each slip along its prime meridian then its equator. Rip it up into tiny continents, throw away half this garbage day.
Samantha Jones (she/her) is a literary magazine enthusiast with poetry in CV2, Grain, New Forum, Room, and elsewhere. She co-exists with OCD, sometimes more peacefully than other times. Samantha is of mixed European settler and Black Canadian ancestry. She lives and writes in Calgary, Alberta on Treaty 7 territory.
